Meet the Team
Manyara Walker
Manyara is a fully-qualified, HCPC-registered social worker with many years' experience in safeguarding and child protection. She graduated from the University of Zimbabwe in 1999 with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and also holds a Master's Degrees in Social Policy and Criminology, a Master's in Public Health (International) and a Post Qualifying Award from the University of East Anglia. She is trained in Achieving Best Evidence and in working sensitively and in confidence within a multi-agency setting.
Manyara has over 20 years' experience of working with vulnerable communities and safeguarding children and families in the roles of senior social worker, programmes manager, team manager and family court advisor for the Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service (Cafcass).
Manyara sits on the Essex Criminal Justice Board as a young witness project manager for NSPCC. More recently, she has worked in the field of child sexual exploitation, as well as assessing prospective foster carers for a private agency.
Mary Kazangarare
Mary is a qualified, HCPC-registered independent social worker with more than 16 years' experience, specialising in working with children and families who are at risk of abuse. Throughout her career as a social worker, she has ensured that all incidents or risks of significant harm to children are dealt with under the relevant Local Safeguarding Children's Board (LSCB) guidelines.
Mary holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Zimbabwe, a Child Care Award from the University of East Anglia and a Post Qualifying Award in social work from Anglia Ruskin. She is also trained in Achieving Best Evidence and is a certified civil mediator.
Mary is the author of Enriching Young Lives, How to Unlock Potential in Young People.
Godfrey Kazangarare
Godfrey graduated from the University of Suffolk in 2009 with a BA Honours 2:1 in Social Work. He is trained in Achieving Best Evidence and is Current Enhanced CRB HCPC-registered.
With a wealth of experience in safeguarding and child protection, Godfrey works with Cafcass as a locum family court advisor, providing safeguarding and child protection advice, assessments and analysis, as well as influencing parents to be more child-focused. He also undertakes professional mentoring of students, newly-qualified and experienced staff.
Godfrey is passionate about working with families and focuses on championing the voice of the child, which can easily be ignored by parents in situations of conflict.
